ADS-B Display Application

  • Created backend service and frontend web application to view aircraft locations from an ADS-B receiver
  • Data stored in a DynamoDB NoSQL database in JSON format, with checks to avoid duplicate reports
  • Utilizes leaflet for map views, with custom markers for aircraft that rotate based on reported heading
  • Replaced default leaflet popup interactions with new react component that displays details in a larger side window
  • Custom responsive layout to ensure maps and images stay in same relative location despite screen size
  • Hosting and data ingestion accomplished utilizing Node.js

Catan Build Calculator

Provisio Capstone Project

  • College Capstone project working with a team of two other developers to create a Hotel Reservation system
  • Utilized Java and Jakarta Server Pages (JSP) along with HTML and CSS for the website interface
  • Site consisted of a login functionality that stored hashed credentials in a MySQL database for each user
  • Designed and implemented a seamless reservation process allowing users to make and modify reservations through an intuitive interface

Work Experience:

Command and Control Operations Team Lead

United States Air Force

  • Developed an improved automatic aircraft identification system utilizing Boolean logic to determine friendly characteristics over the western United States, saving the DoD over $120,000 and 8,760 man-hours per year
  • Lead a team of 28 individuals responsible for airborne detection, validation, and identification of air traffic over 3 million square miles of sovereign airspace and 300+ RADAR locations
  • Additionally maintained the Air Force’s most complex secure joint tactical data link network in the United States with over 200 links spanning TCP, UDP, Satellite, RF (radio), and Serial (telephone) connections
  • Consistently received operational evaluations within the top <1% of peer group, holding instructor and/or evaluator roles in every position held within military career and earning accolades as a superior performer
  • Responded to supervisor directives, leading the tactical and professional development of a diverse team of 39 flight members, significantly contributing to their individual growth and team cohesion
  • Delivered an impactful briefing to the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) to include the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (VCJCS), shedding light on technical limitations, and actively participated in shaping the Air Battle Management System (ABMS) initiatives to enhance overall mission accomplishment
